Reiki Was Always Part of My Journey
When your mind, body, and soul need healing, you know. It is not a subtle whisper. It is a pull, an undeniable force. Like a magnet, you suddenly find yourself drawn to everything meant to guide you deeper within yourself.
When I was finally ready to open my heart to myself, ZZZTTT! (like a magnet snapping into place) there was yoga. ZZZTTT! Meditation. ZZZTTT! Sound healing. And then, ZZZTTT! There was Reiki.
I kid you not. It was as if one door led to another, then another, unfolding like a path I didn't even know I was meant to walk. It felt magical, but at the same time, it made perfect sense.
After quitting my job as a creative director for an art gallery that was forced to close due to COVID, I felt lost. I was afraid. I was desperately looking for something. Healing, direction, purpose, maybe all of the above. And, as the universe always does, it led me exactly where I needed to be.
I found myself in a work environment that felt like a brilliant new toolbox or, better yet, a Mary Poppins purse full of unexpected gifts. And that is where I met Kathy Rule.
Like a ray of sunshine, she greeted me with warmth. From the moment we connected, I felt like destiny had orchestrated it all. At the time, I had only scratched the surface of Reiki healing, but I already knew deep in my soul that I was meant to be a practitioner. I never questioned when or how it would happen. I did not need to. Spirit already knew I was headed there.
Not long after we met, Kathy told me, You have to take the classes. And without hesitation, I knew she was right. I knew I had to.
During our first Reiki session together, I felt an immediate shift. It was the change I had been searching for, one that I knew deep down I needed all along. Kathy helped me understand what I was currently healing through, and she brought me insight that freed me from my own resistance. The wisdom she shared was not just hers. It was channeled. I could feel it. And it helped me regain perspective, grounding me in a way I had not felt in a long time.
The Thing About Reiki
Reiki does not give you what you want. It gives you what you need, and only when you are ready.
Sometimes, we get in our own way. We hold onto resistance, fear, or old patterns, and that can make healing take longer. But Reiki meets us exactly where we are. It works in alignment with divine timing, never forcing, never rushing, just waiting for the moment we are open to receiving it.
Without Reiki, healing still happens, but it can feel slower, heavier, or blocked depending on the energetic state we are in. And that is okay. That is part of being human. But Reiki is like a bridge, a gentle guide that helps us move through healing with more ease, clarity, and trust.
Eventually, I was guided to become a Reiki Master. It has been one of the biggest blessings of my life, not just because of what it has done for me, but because of what I have been able to share with others.
I have used Reiki to support my boyfriend, my friends, my family, and even my two cats, Logan and Frida Kahlo. I can see the difference. I feel it. And I know they do too.
Reiki: A Strengthening Tool, Not a Cure-All
I do not want to sell a false dream. Reiki is not a quick fix. It is not a magic button that makes all of life’s challenges disappear. But what it does do is help us navigate those challenges with more resilience, trust, and grace.
Reiki has become my divine strengthening tool, one that reminds me of my own power, my own capacity to heal, and my own ability to create a ripple effect of healing in my community.
If you feel the pull, trust it. Reiki finds you when you are ready. And when it does, it has the power to change everything.
